The Trust is a charity (Registered Charity No. 275366) created by the Club that provides grants for the advancement of education generally and in particular in the subjects of good seamanship and safe navigation including, but not by way of limitation, grants to assist persons to take educational training courses of an outward bound nature or in training ships or in equipping themselves for a career at sea or in the Sovereign’s Armes Forces or upon voyages of an adventurous nature.
The Trust also provides support for the relief of poverty for qualified beneficiaries.
The Club nominates eight (the majority of) Trustees.
